Accessibility

Enabling.IT (R&D) is fully committed to working towards its web site being as accessible as possible and inclusive for all its users regardless of their physical or mental capability.

This website  conforms to Priority 2 of the WC3 WAI-AA Level Double-A conformance icon,            W3C-WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0

These guidelines include:

  • Allowing users to control text size.
  • Using an easy to read font type.
  • Ensuring suitable foreground and background colour contrast.
  • Images that convey important information have alternative text and where an image is used for a decorative purpose the alternative text will be blank.
  • Providing simple and consistent site navigation.
  • Assigning access keys for navigational elements.
  • Ensuring the target of each link is clearly defined.
  • Providing a site map for information about the layout of the web site and for quick navigation.
  • Providing navigational shortcuts for users of text only browsers and page readers.
  • Using appropriate structural mark-up to maximise browser support.
  • Ensuring all content and functionality is available to users without content style sheet (CSS), image and script support.

Control Text Size

  • In Internet Explorer, go to the View menu and select Text Size.
  • In Mozilla Firefox, go to the View menu and select Text Size.
  • In Opera, go to the File menu, select Preferences then Fonts and then change Minimum font size (pixels).
  • In Safari, go to the View menu and select Make Text Bigger or press the Apple Key and then the plus key.

Access keys

Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key (for Firefox 2 press ALT + an access key +SHIFT); on Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key. All pages on this site define the following access keys:

JavaScript

This site uses Javascript however the site has been coded to work without the need for Javascript. However some of our technical support areas are not fully accessible and we are working on this. To be able to access the reseller portal areas and documentation you will need to have Javascript enabled. Below is a list on how to activate it on the most popular web browsers.

Internet Explorer 5.5 and above

  1. From Tools select Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Click the Custom Level button.
  4. Scroll down to the section called Scripting ensuring “Enable” is selected.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Yes to the prompt box that appears.
  7. Click OK again and the Refresh button on your browser toolbar and JavaScript should now be enabled.

Firefox 1.0.x

  1. From Tools select Options.
  2. On the Options dialog, click Web Features in the left navigation panel.
  3. Select Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click OK.
  5. On the browser’s tool bar, click Reload Current Page and JavaScript should now be enabled.

Firefox 1.5.x and 2.0

  1. From Tools select Options.
  2. On the Options dialog, click Content from the top navigation.
  3. Select Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click OK.
  5. On the browser’s tool bar, click Reload Current Page and JavaScript should now be enabled.

Netscape Navigator 7.1 and 7.2

  1. From Edit select Preferences.
  2. From left hand side menu double click Advanced.
  3. Select Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Select Navigator checkbox under Enable JavaScript for grouping.
  5. Click OK.
  6. On the browser’s tool bar reload the page and JavaScript should now be enabled.

Netscape Navigator 8.1

  1. From Tools select Options….
  2. Under Security and Privacy, select Site Controls.
  3. Under Site List tab and Web Features grouping, select Enable JavaScript and Enable Java.
  4. Click OK.
  5. On the browser’s tool bar reload the page and JavaScript should now be enabled.

Opera 8.5.4

  1. From Tools select Quick preferences.
  2. Select the checkbox next to Enable JavaScript.
  3. Refresh the page and JavaScript should now be enabled.
