The ever increasing mountain of data being stored and handled by businesses opens up a massive risk to your company if you do not have adequate business interruption and data disaster management plans in place. Because of this focus, Sphere does not back up Exchange servers.
Enabling.IT recommend against storing any business critical information solely in an Exchange server due to the risk of data theft and exploitation by hackers, viruses and even your own staff! If you follow any type of IT best practice then the information should be stored externally to Exchange. There is also a cost element to your business by backing up Exchange servers: do you really want to backup and archive all the jokes, spam and other notes passed between employees?
